The First Aid Squad has been serving Hardyston with pride since 1967 and we’ve seen how our community has grown in population from 3,500 to over 8,500 in a 34 square mile area. In 2010, Hardyston’s volunteer squad of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), First Responders and drivers responded to 821 calls for medical emergencies, search and rescue, fire, motor vehicle accidents and mutual aid into surrounding towns. The number of emergency calls increases ~10% each year as our community continues to expand.
We currently house 2 ambulances on our north side of town at the corner of North Church Rd and Rt 94 and house 2 ambulances at our main building in Stockholm as well as a First Response Vehicle to allow quick response to both sides of town.
We are a 100% volunteer organization, and we are actively looking for township residents, or those that work in the community, to join our organization as volunteer EMT’s, cadets (16 to 18 years old) and ambulance drivers. The requirements for this job are dedication, community concern and a passion to save lives. Volunteers receive training in life skills useful in both personal and professional situations. Participants have gone on to find employment as EMTs, and to further their education in emergency medicine as nurses and paramedics. You could make a difference in this community!
ALL TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT is provided and no prior experience is necessary. Willingness to work as part of a professional team and helping others when they need it most IS A MUST!
The Hardyston Township First Aid Squad also supports community activities like Kids Day, Senior Day and Hardyston Day as well as sporting events.
If you would like to help your family, friends, and community through volunteering with us, please contact the First Aid Squad for additional information. If you cannot volunteer your time now, supporting us through your donations is also greatly appreciated.
